I've tried thousands of times taking photos with Android cameraphones and iPhones and they do have their advantages over Nokia cameraphones with dedicated camera buttons but the absence of a dedicated camera button slows down the act of picture taking. Not good and not intuitive.Perhaps the MotoX "swivel" camera gesture which I haven't tried or something like it can take the place of dedicated camera button but I doubt it!.

Anybody have a MotoX I can test drive to see if the swivel camera gesture is better than touching a screen?
