What's your minimum viable digital camera?
My Minimum Viable Digital Camera 2.0 would be (in no order):
- GPS
- WiFi to beam your photos directly to the photo sharing service of your choice: instagram, flickr, google+, facebook, SFTP, whatever, with an API or SDK for developers to add other photo-sharing services
- real physical dials for aperture and shutter speed
- a real physical dial for manual focus with focus peaking
- 1" sensor or bigger
- physical dial for exposure control
- RAW + JPEG
Notice there would be:
- no LCD screen
- no auto-focus
Don't care about:
- anti-aliasing filter or neutral density filter as longs as the pics are good
- lens: 28mm, 35mm, or 50mm equivalent or even a f2.8 or faster constant aperture zoom
- fast aperture - a constant f2.8 or better is fine
I could probably live without GPS and WiFi but then it wouldn't be a 21st camera would it :-) ?
21st century cameras are social and on the internet and awesome-ized by software and sensors
