But there's still hope if they become social cameras

Stand alone cameras are dead for amateurs who are not enthusiasts, i.e. I agree with Om. Not dead for the Rolands, Michaels, Hubs and Ludos of the world. A "truly connected to the internet taking true advantage of software camera" in other words a social camera that works as a complement with the iPhones and Android phones of the world will be a big hit. Who will do this first?
